Art bonsai between people and nature
bonsai 1
``BONSAI'' is the art of growing a natural landscape in a pot. It has become a common language around the world, and is gaining popularity overseas as an art that is woven by people and nature. Kagawa's pine bonsai, which has the top market share in Japan, is not only beautiful, but also has a reputation for being ``resistant to root rot and damage.''

The central areas of Kinashi-cho and Kokubunji-cho in the western part of Takamatsu City are home to many bonsai gardens, and you can see small pine trees planted in fields all over the place. These are bonsai seedlings, and the sight of them being grown in a field is a sight unique to Kagawa Prefecture.
In 2015, it was exhibited at the International Expo held in Milan, Italy, one of the world's hotspots for bonsai, and became the centerpiece of the Kagawa exhibition along with ``UDON''.

Teshima Art Museum
The Teshima Art Museum was built by artist Rei Naito and architect Ryue Nishizawa in a corner of terraced rice fields that had been reclaimed from idle fields. The building, which is shaped like a water drop, is a concrete shell structure with no pillars and a space of 40 x 60 m and a maximum height of 4.5 m. Wind, sound, and light are brought in through openings in the ceiling, creating an organic space where nature and the building interact.
